Now, for something completely different: I have always wondered how our teams would perform if they played against each other as a single unit. For instance, how would my ace stack up against your ace if we put our best lineups together? Who would win in a 162-game schedule? We cannot get our 30 players to actually play each other, so we turn to the best baseball simulation game on the market to give us an idea on what would happen.
Using Out of the Park Baseball 16, I have put together all 12 teams with full 25-man rosters and reserve rosters made up of remaining current players, minor leaguers, and unassigned players from the last couple of seasons. I will be launching the season on June 27th and providing updates on StatManSportsOnline.com.
I have had the game’s artificial intelligence set up all rosters, lineups, and pitching staffs, including my team. You will be able to see your team’s roster, lineups against RHP and LHP, starting rotations, and bullpen assignments on the site. If you want to make any changes to anything associated with your team, please let me know.
I will look to simulate a 2-3 days at a time until we catch up with real time in late July. Here is some more information about the roster rules, league format, and how the draft was conducted:
12-team league that will play a 162-game regular season, played in parallel to the 2015 FTL season (spring-to-fall). FTL transactions will be conducted on the same day in the game as the transaction was conducted in real life.
Each FTL Sim team will have one minor league team to allow for player development and performance to be judged for promotion. However, only players on the active 30-man roster will be able to be promoted.
